Interestingly enough, I've never met an unemployed one. Locking up the people who hire illegal immigrants (so they can avoid little things such as payroll taxes and workers compensation insurance) would go a long way in addressing the problem. Let's start with Mitt Romney. He's got time on his hands since he's stepped away from the presidential race. Yep, he's got the time to do some time - now there's a keen campaign slogan. If President Bush locked up Romney for hiring illegals, maybe some of their Republican counterparts would believe that he's really against the practice and this would lend credibility to his immigration reform. It does make a darling campaign slogan, "Got the Time to Do Some Time!" Wait. John McCain should use that slogan and call for Romney's arrest.

Fortunately, this group has been, for the most part, very understanding and supportive in Dave's absence. According to the story, though, not all bloggers are quite so fortunate. Norton Rose reaps rewards of comms upgrade
International law firm Norton Rose has signed a 1.9m contract with Affiniti to upgrade its communications network. The legal firm moved from six offices to a single London-based building in May this year and needed to consolidate its communications network. As part of the contract, Affiniti implemented online document collaboration to help speed up contract drafting for clients as its lawyers can work with colleagues around the world. Anthony Salter, programme manager at Norton Rose, said the communications network integrates a host of features and capabilities which can help staff work more effectively and efficiently, without increasing costs.
Max train and bus collide, train derails
The collision happened at approximately 7:15 pm at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Yamhill Street. TriMet's Mary Fetsch said the bus was headed south and the train was eastbound. "The bus ran into the train and derailed the train, so the question is 'Who had the right of way and how did this happen?'" Fetsch said. "It was kind of a T-bone where the front of the bus hit the front of the train." Fetsch said there was damage to the front of the train and the overhead wires. She expected train service to be disrupted until at least 9:30 pm. TriMet was running shuttle busses between the Rose Quarter and PGE Park in both directions Friday night. Fetsch said one person on the bus suffered minor injuries. .
Actor Martin Sheen to receive Laetare Medal from Notre Dame
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - The University of Notre Dame is honoring actor and activist Martin Sheen with its Laetare (Luh-TAR'-eh) Medal. University president Rev. John Jenkins says Notre Dame welcomes the chance to highlight how Sheen has used his recognition as an actor to help others. Sheen's roles have included portraying a Notre Dame graduate who becomes the U.S. president on "The West Wing" television series. Since 1883, the Laetare Medal has been awarded annually to a prominent Catholic in the arts and sciences who illustrates the ideals of the church and enriches humanity. Past award winners include former President Kennedy and former U.S. House Speaker Thomas P. "Tip" O'Neill Jr. Sheen will receive the medal at Notre Dame's May 18th commencement.
JDSU Unveils All-In-One Solution for Optical Transport

CBC should receive stable, multi-year funding: report
I actually think they all do a pretty bad job.
CBC needs public funding with stricter guidelines to what is shown.
For instance,
Jpod is a great show
so is Tudors and LIttle Mosque shows viewership
Rick Mercer and 22minutes are a bit tired but they are at least doing a better job of news than the rest of Canadian tv media.
I think CBC needs to re-format into several stations,like the BBC.
And lastly, if thes CONs want to drop public funding and the television fund, then ya CBC needs a 'capital investment' which can be paid back.
This CBC bashing isn't helping Canadian identity. I am sure we are all tired of jsut being known for an old beaver and those mountie uniforms.
BTW, jimmy, did you realise the acts that were at the Grammys this year? and all the other reward shows? ALL Canadian.
