Doesn't sound like the stuff national news is made of, does it? It is when you remember that El-Sherif is better known by his nom de guerre: Dr. Fadl, the infamous founder of Egyptian Islamic Jihad (Al-Jihad, EIJ). His letter, written from his prison cell southwest of Cairo, called on Islamist and jihadi groups around the world to cease violent operations, bluntly declaring, “We are prohibited [by God] from committing aggression, even if the enemies of Islam do so." .

Director: Eminem Almost Leapt Into 'Jumper' Lead Role
As it turns out, the famed white rapper was lined up to play the lead role in the new action film, "Jumper," director Doug Liman revealed to MTVNews.com. "We did have a meeting. We did have conversations with Eminem," the writer/director said about the rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers. Eminem became a surprise box office star in 2002 in the autobiographical "8 Mile." Apparently, after being bitten by the acting bug, he spent some time looking for his next project when the "Jumper" script reportedly caught his eye in early 2006. At that same time, Liman (who just a few months earlier had been tapped to direct "Jumper") entered talks about bringing Eminem on board to star as the teleporting David Rice. "[The idea to meet with the rapper] was sort of coming from the producer and [Eminem's] manager," Liman told MTVNews.com.

In truth, wage-loss benefits, permanent impairment benefits, medical treatment and vocational rehabilitation awards have all been reduced under WSI's employer-dominated board of directors. That's how WSI amassed nearly $2 billion in reserves without increasing employer premiums. It took every nickel out of the pockets of injured workers and their families.Many of the benefit reductions were in the form of new laws passed by the Legislature at the urging of WSI and its big business boosters.
Japan may move to support crashing dollar
Japan's industrial output fell 2pc in January on slowing exports to the US, Europe, and lately the rest of Asia. While China has held up well so far, there is mounting evidence that tighter credit rules are starting to bite. The Xinhua Finance index of business confidence fell from 67.7 to 60.3 in February and production index tumbled from 61.1 to 51.3. "Over coming months, we expect this deteriorating outlook to becoming increasingly evident in industrial production," said Barclays Capital. China's yuan has risen 2.6pc against the dollar this year alone as Beijing attempts to head off an inflationary crisis. Prices rose 7.1pc in January, with clear signs of knock-on effects into pay demands. The minimum wage in Guangdong is to rise 18pc in April. The triple effects of tight credit, inflation, and a rising yuan are squeezing export margins, tipping hundreds of companies into the red.

Alana's ex-husband, GEORGE HAMILTON, and her son, SEAN, are also there to celebrate. "You're the toughest person I ever met; I say that in all honesty," George tells Farrah.
UPDATE: Missing hiker from Chino is found dead near Mt. Baldy
MT. BALDY - A local man missing since Wednesday in the mountains above Claremont has been found dead. Robert Bruner, 46, of Chino was found by two local hikers around 2 p.m. Sunday, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff's news release. The two hikers went to the sheriff's command post in the area and informed authorities they found a dead man while hiking west of Falling Rock Canyon. That area has an elevation of 6,000 feet, according to the news release. Search teams responded and later notified the coroner's office. Coroner's officials confirmed the body as belonging to Bruner around 5 p.m. "It appears that he did fall. He was wearing his climbing gear," said Cindy Beavers, sheriff's spokeswoman. Volunteers from San Bernardino, Los Angeles and San Diego Counties assisted in the search for Bruner, according to the news release.
